Often there comes a time when we need to rent a car for a few days. It may be that you are going away and will require the use of a vehicle or it may be that your car is in for repairs and you need something to get you to and from work. Whatever the reason, there are a few things that you need to consider before renting a vehicle. All rental companies will need proof of address along with a copy of your driving licence, they will most probably also do a DVLA check and take a deposit from you to cover the cost of any damage that may be done to the vehicle. Short term rental cars are normally covered under the hiring companies insurance policy, but make sure you carefully read the terms and conditions as you do not want to be paying for a new car should the worse happen.
